LEWISTON – Ruth P. Warren, 90, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Genesis Healthcare/Marshwood Center.
She was born May 24, 1918, in Lewiston, a daughter of the late Winworth and Alice (Payne) Warren. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1936. She continued her education at Nasson College in Springvale, graduating in 1940.
She was a dietitian at Central Maine General Hospital for five years and went on to become home service coordinator for Central Maine Power Co. in Waterville and Portland for 32 years, before retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the American Home Economic Association, Home Economists in Business, New England Electric Council, a member of the Board of Trustees Nasson College in Lewiston, the Portland Zonta Club and the Lewiston United Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Priscilla Hayes of Auburn; her nephew, Jeffrey Hayes and his wife, Nancy, of Poland Spring; grandnieces, Amy Hayes of Auburn, Jennifer Hayes of Boston, Mikala Hayes of Poland Spring and Tammy Woodcock of Auburn; her grandnephews, Austin Hayes of Minot and Jeffrey C. Hayes of Poland Spring; and great-grandnephew, Steven Cornish of Auburn.
The family would like to thank Marshwood Center, Interim Health Care and the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the excellent care they gave Ruth.
