I started my education at age 5 at St. Peter’s School in Lewiston, Maine where I was taught by Dominican Sisters. At the age of 10 we moved to Southern California and from the 5th grade through the 8th grade I attended Holy Angels School in Arcadia, California. My first semester in high school was at St. Anthony’s Minor Seminary in Santa Barbara, California. Being homesickness I chose to leave the seminary. I continued my high school education at Bishop Amat High School in La Puente, California Aside from receiving a good education, these religious and committed lay teachers in my schools provided a tremendous influence in my life.

My wife and I are most thankful to our parents for the sacrifices they made to provide us with our Catholic education. We also sacrificed for our children in order to pay for their tuition. It was money well spent. We felt it very important for our children to experience the love of God as we have as a result of getting to know Him in a very private and personal way.

Catholic education is truly a gift that I would urge those with children, especially in these times of so many conflicting influences to give to their children.
