BETHEL – Francis “Bucky” Buckman, 64, of Bethel, died at his Bethel home on Jan. 22, after a long illness.
He was born in Bethel, on March 24, 1944, the son of the late Clifford A. and Eva (Baker) Buckman and was educated in Bethel schools. Bucky had worked at Stowell Wood Products as a maintenance man, at Gaudreau’s Repair as a mechanic and most recently at Gilbert Manufacturing from which he retired due to ill health.
He had served in the National Guard and had volunteered with the Bethel Rescue for many years. He enjoyed rock-hounding, hunting, fishing and was an overall avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary (Chase) Buckman of Bethel; two sons, Thomas Buckman and his wife, Crystal, and Joel Buckman and his wife, Maria, all of Concord, N.H.; one daughter, Sarah Buckman of Center Conway, N.H.; one brother, Alan Buckman Sr. and his wife, Susie, of Bethel; three sisters, Barbara of Washington, Fannie Buell of Okmulgee, Okla., and Dora Bean of Alburg, Vt.; three grandchildren, Zachary, Nina and Chase, all of Concord, N.H.
He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Flossie York of Bryant Pond; and one brother, Arthur Buckman of Beulaville, NC.
