I have been a hockey fan for more than 40 years. I have especially been a fan of high school hockey. I have watched the deterioration of fan support and local newspaper coverage of high school hockey ever since the Maineiacs arrived.

There’s no argument that the quality of that level of play is superb, but I would much rather be in the seats of a great Lewiston-St. Dom’s classic game with another 2,000 parents, relatives, friends and fans.

If the rumor that the Maineiacs may be heading back to Canada comes to fruition, I say, “Thanks for the memories.”
