AUBURN – College-bound seniors at Edward Little High School are invited to apply for the Larry Marczak Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is in its eighth year and awards $2,000 to one graduating senior at the school. Completed applications are due at the ELHS guidance office by March 20. Interested students should obtain an information sheet from the office. Applicants must include two letters of recommendation and an essay of at least 250 words explaining something that they have done during high school that has had a positive impact on someone else’s life. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The scholarship was established in memory of Larry Marczak, a high school science teacher in the Auburn school system for 33 years, who passed away in 2002. Marczak recognized students that were willing to work hard, regardless of the level of individual abilities. He was dedicated to instilling a love of learning in his students and encouraged them to pursue post-secondary education.
