LEWISTON – A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Jeanne L. Plourde was celebrated Saturday at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. Monsignor Marc Caron celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

At the beginning of Mass, Jeanne’s children, Richard and Roger Plourde draped their mother’s casket with the burial pall that commemorates their mother’s baptism into new life. Jeanne’s daughters-in-law, Susan and Diane Plourde, placed her crucifix and picture of the Sacred Heart on the casket for the funeral Mass.

During Mass, the readings were read by Patricia Ouellette and Joan Bergeron.

The Offertory was brought to the Altar by Jeanne’s granddaughters, Tara Roy and Marisa Plourde.

Vocalist Laurie Sidelinger sang “How Great Thou Art” and “On Eagles Wing” during the Mass.

Words of remembrance were expressed by Susan Plourde, and Tara Roy shared words of remembrance about her grandmother following the committal prayers at the cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gil Courtemanche, David Morin, John Poulin, Ernest King, Matt Verrill and Mike Roy.

At the conclusion of services, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston. Arrangements by the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston.
