Rumford – Olivette J. (Gagnon) Richard, 94, of South Rumford Road in Rumford, died peacefully on Jan. 20, at Rumford Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Olivette was born in Rumford on Dec. 17, 1914, daughter of Nellie and Alfred Gagnon. She married Raymond J. Richard, who passed away in 1984.

She was a beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and Nana to many. She cherished her children and grandchildren. In her earlier years, she worked at the Dell Shoppe and Bass Shoe. She enjoyed crafts, shopping and more recently became a dedicated QVC customer. She had a wonderful sense of humor was quick with comebacks and loved a good joke. Most of all she loved watching her great-grandchildren play outside her window and always had a special treat ready when they stopped by. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Dupuis of Rumford; son David Richard and wife, Debbie, of Wilton; grandchildren, Kathy Humphreys and husband, Mark, of Scarborough, Sherry Milligan and fiancé, Rick Greene, of Rumford, Shelly Ouellette and husband, Paul, of Turner, Ronald Richard of Tennessee, Heidi Bean and husband, Luke, of Auburn; six great-grandchildren; sisters Irene Gagnon of Rumford and Lillian Chase of Dixfield; brother Raymond Gagnon of Dixfield and his wife Francis; brother-in-law Vito Puiia of Rumford; sisters-in-law Jean Turcotte of Florida, Lorraine Faucher and Diane Richard of Livermore.

She was predeceased by sisters Lena Puiia and Dot Swan; brothers, Leo and Bob Gagnon; son-in-law Richard Dupuis; and grandson, Michael Milligan.

The family would like to extend their heartwarming thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Rumford Hospital for all the care and compassion they gave to her and her family during this difficult time.
