Meeting canceled

RUMFORD – Due to the pending snowstorm, the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition community networking meeting, scheduled for noon Wednesday will be canceled. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25.

Snowmobile ride

PERU – The Peru Snowmobile Club will hold a club ride on Sunday, Feb. 1, meeting at 10 a.m. in Thurston’s Field in Dickvale. They will ride to Andover for lunch. For more information, call 562-4652.

Snowboarding

RUMFORD – Black Mountain has teamed up with University of Maine at Farmington Ski Industries to offer hour and a half snowboard lessons for riders of all ages.

The program will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 6 and 13, March 6, 13 and 20. Cost will be $25 a session, including lift ticket. The cost does not include rentals.

Valentine dance

CANTON – A Sweet Heart Dance will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the old Canton Fire and Municipal Building, Route 140.

Dinner dance

RUMFORD – Harlow’s Helping Hands will sponsor a benefit for John Harlow on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Eagles. A pork loin dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. for $5, and a dance will take place from 7 p.m. to midnight for $5.
