BUCKFIELD – A local man was injured Saturday night when his vehicle slammed into a utility pole, police said.

Brandon Steele, whose age was not available, was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital after complaining of pain, said Oxford County Sheriff’s Deputy William Nelson.

“He hit the pole pretty hard,” Nelson said, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening. Steele did not appear to have any external injuries, Nelson said.

The Ford Escort was traveling on Route 140 when it left the road near Buckfield High School and crashed into the pole, Nelson said. No other vehicles were involved.
