Why didn’t the Sun Journal see fit to put a picture of the three winning cheering teams on the front page of the sports section Jan. 25? All of the divisions are equally entitled to that honor.
There was a picture of the fifth-place Edward Little team on the front page, instead of the first-place teams, Lewiston and St. Dom’s.
All the girls did a fine job, but why wasn’t there a picture of the St. Dom’s cheering squad, along with the other local first-place teams?
The St. Dom’s squad worked very hard and had a very unfortunate injury to one of the girls during their performance. They were allowed to finish their routine at the end of the Class C performances. Even with that injury, they managed to pull themselves together and ended up taking first place in their division
Since St. Dom’s is a local school, I would have thought that they would have had a picture on the front page, along with the Lewiston and Wells girls, who also earned that honor. The pictures used on the front page were not pictures of the winning teams.
I think all the girls did a fine job, but the front page should be the place for those who earned that honor.
Unless I missed it, there wasn’t any picture of the Saints anywhere in the paper.
