Farmingdale – Robert G. Gowell, 77, of Maine Avenue, formerly of Litchfield, passed into the arms of his Lord on Saturday, Jan. 31.
He was born in Lewiston on April 20, 1931, a son of Percy and Mildred Gowell.
He worked for the State of Maine MDOT for over 20 years until he retired. He enjoyed gardening, building and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He was a member and a trustee of the Church Hill Baptist Church in Augusta. He loved all the people there.
He is survived by four children, Eileen Dunn and her husband, Don, of Bowdoinham, Lynn Roberts and her son, Adam, of Farmingdale, Kevin Gowell Sr. and his wife, Libby, of Litchfield and Michael Gowell Sr., of Stetson; his brother, Clarence Gowell Sr. and his wife, Alma, and his sister, Betty Estabrook and her husband, Keith, all of Litchfield; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Lorraine.
