PORTLAND (AP) – According to U.S. Attorney Paula Silsby, 64-year-old defense contractor Maurice Subilia Jr. of Kennebunkport pleaded guilty to multiple charges Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

Subilia, who operated two companies named Lealagi Inc. and Sage Technologies Inc., admitted his involvement in a conspiracy involving two officials at the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command in Huntsville, Ala.

According to court documents, Subilia paid the employees bribes in exchange for having inflated government contracts steered his way.

Subilia faces up to 40 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been scheduled.
