ELIOT (AP) – A 25-year Kittery police veteran has been suspended with pay following his arrest at a stand-up comedy show.
Officials say Patrolman Robert Creamer was charged with assault and criminal trespass Saturday night after he refused to leave the Bob Marley comedy show at a conference center in Eliot.
Eliot Police Chief Theodor Small said Creamer was asked to leave the show when he became unruly and started yelling profanities after consuming alcohol. Small said Creamer was escorted to the lobby, where he shoved an employee and refused to leave.
Kittery Police Chief Edward Strong said the 57-year-old Creamer will remain suspended until an internal affairs investigation is completed.
