GORHAM – The Auburn Avalanche Peewee House Hockey team continued its strong commitment to team work Sunday, holding the Southern Maine Huskies No. 1 squad under a dozen shots on goal in a 3-1 victory at the USM Ice Arena. Auburn’s unbeaten streak stands at 11 games.

Goalie Nick Hemond turned in another focused effort when the Huskies applied pressure.

Defensemen Colin Benson, Kevin Knight, Shuler Lamothe, Tanner Ramich and Austin Thompson all had solid outings for the Avalanche.

Auburn (10-3-3) got on the board at 3:36 on the opening frame on a goal by Isaiah Dubois with an assist from Lamothe.

The Huskies tied things up at 9:28 of the second period on a goal by Kristen Murray, Chris Flaherty assisting.

The Avalanche responded at the 5:11 mark of the middle frame, when Branden Dyer notched an unassisted tally. Dyer provided insurance with his second solo strike of the game in the third period.
