FARMINGTON – The Mitch Boulette Memorial Ride takes place Sunday, Feb. 15.

The Shiretown Riders Snowmobile Club and Farmington Elks Lodge 2430 are hosting what they intend to become an annual organized snowmobile ride and dinner in memory of Boulette, who died July 6, 2007.

The ride includes a loop starting from the Elks Lodge in West Farmington at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The loop being planned will take riders to Kingfield and back but that could change depending on the number of snowmobilers who participate, said Jill Boulette. Riders are welcome to bring lunches to eat during trail breaks.

The ride and dinner is open to everyone and non-riders are invited to the spaghetti dinner starting at 5 p.m.

Boulette was a founder of the Shiretown Riders Snowmobile Club. He served as president and was a member of its Board of Directors. An avid snowmobiler, he supported the club with trail work, equipment maintenance, grant writing and acted as the club’s liaison with Farmington, which he served as director of Public Works.

Ride proceeds will be divided between the Shiretown Riders for trail maintenance and the Farmington Elks Lodge for its charities.

Registration is $20, which includes dinner and a T-shirt. Early registration can be made by calling Andy Leavitt at 491-0748 or Jill Boulette at 491-4877.
