Benefit auction

OXFORD – Advent Christian Church, Route 26, will hold a benefit Chinese auction on Friday, Feb. 13. Tickets can be purchased from 4 to 6 p.m., with drawings from 6 to 8 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit Lynn Lock of Paris to help with expenses for her to be in Boston with her son, Tyler Cluff, 9, who has bone cancer.

Anyone who wants to donate items, food or time may call Peggy at 357-7072.

The event is being sponsored by the Families in Crisis Task Force. Donations can be sent to 659 Park St., Paris, ME 04218.

Bog ski tour

BROWNFIELD – A cross-country ski tour at the Brownfield Bog, hosted by the Tin Mountain Conservation Center Nature Program, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7.

Participants must bring skis and a lunch. Call 603-447-6991 for reservations. Participants will meet at Grant’s Store in Brownfield at 10. For more information on the center, log on to www.tinmtn.org.

Church events

PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, Paris, has invited all children to Sunday school at 9 a.m. Feb. 8, the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany.

They also invite adults to “Making the Old Story Our Story” at 9 a.m. Worship service will start at 10:15 a.m., followed by fellowship, coffee and refreshments. All are welcome.

Sermon subject

PARIS – “Winter” is the title of Silver Moore-Leamon’s Sunday, Feb. 8, sermon at the First Universalist Church, Pine Street, Paris. The 10 a.m. service is open to all and child care is available.

The music is under the direction of Forest Perkins with guest pianist and Sunday school is under the direction of Renee Wales. Coffee and fellowship will follow the service.
