TURNER — Leavitt Area High School Principal Patrick Hartnett has been named Maine’s High School Principal of the Year.
The presentation was made at a school assembly Wednesday, headed by Richard Durost, executive director of the Maine Principals’ association.
“We were looking for someone who believes in service, in giving back to the profession and is continuing to learn,” Durost said.
Hartnett, who lives in Hebron, has served as Leavitt’s principal for five years. A native of Harrison, he has also worked as the assistant principal at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in Paris.
