AUBURN – The Saints controlled the overtime frame with a patient offense as St. Dom’s grabbed a 48-43 overtime victory over Old Orchard Beach in WMC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

Senior forward Aaron Allen tallied a team-high 15 points for the Saints (10-8). Peter Keaney pitched in with 12 points, while D.J. St. Pierre applied 10 points for St. Dom’s.

Junior guard Brandon Ouellette pocketed a game-high 16 points for the Seagulls (9-7).

Freeport 45, Poland 42

FREEPORT – Freeport sustained a 21 point barrage in the fourth quarter and escaped with a 45-42 WMC victory over Poland on Tuesday.

Despite being held scoreless in the first quarter and trailing by nine at the half, the Knights came out pressing in the second half and capitalized on miscues, outscoring the Falcons 21-9 in the final frame.

Cody Beckett and Jon Klages each drained 17 points to lead the Falcons (4-13).

Jonah Farrington, whose 3-point bid to tie the game rimmed out with eight seconds remaining, hit three from behind the arc to lead the Knights (3-14) with nine points, while Kyle MacVane and Mike Littlefield scored eight apiece.

Madison 58, Winthrop 53, OT

MADISON – After each quarter ended in a tie, Madison and Winthrop took this boys’ basketball game into overtime to settle the score.

Simon Elias scored seven of the Bulldogs’ 11 points in overtime as Madison (12-5) emerged with a 58-53 victory over Winthrop on Tuesday night. The 6-foot-3 senior foward scored a game-high 18 points, which included four steals and four blocked shots.

Madison’s Sam Perkins and Ezra Gouley each scored 14 points.

For the Ramblers (12-5), Chad Morang scored the team-high 15 points, and teammates Zack Farrington and Andrew Smithgall each dropped in 10.

Mountain Valley 53, Jay 20

JAY – Senior guard Travis Ruff collected a game-high 15 points as Mountain Valley steamrolled Jay 53-20 in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Falcons (15-2) scored on every turnover in the first quarter to take an early 21-5 lead. Cameron Kaubris scored 13 points, while Jacob Arsenault added 12 points for Mountain Valley.

Kyle DeMillo led the Tigers (7-10) with six points in the losing effort.

EL 63, Leavitt 38

AUBURN – Shane Ciriello scored 15 points on five 3-pointers to lead Edward Little to a 63-38 win over Leavitt in KVAC boys’ basketball Tuesday night.

Thanks to 3-pointers from Doug Nash, Zach Caldwell and Lucas Witham, Leavitt hung around for the first half. But Ciriello matched the Hornets trey for trey and gave the Red Eddies a 27-19 lead at halftime. Ciriello drilled two more 3s in the first two minutes of the third quarter as EL pulled away with a 17-2 run.

Corey Therriault also had 15 points for the Eddies (15-2), while Dominique Bailey added 11 points and Joshua Titus nine points off the bench. Nash led Leavitt (2-15) with 11 points.

Richmond 68, Buckfield 46

BUCKFIELD – Eric Murrin posted a team-leading 14 points as Richmond executed a well-balanced attack in a 68-46 triumph over Buckfield in EWC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Bobcats (14-2) pounced early, taking a 20-5 lead in the first quarter. Nick Woods and Bruce Carver scored 12 points each for Richmond.

Senior forward Tyler Weymouth notched a game-high 17 points for the Bucks (6-11), to go along with his six assists and six rebounds. Kyle Rines and Bryan Litchfield chipped in with 13 points apiece for Buckfield.

Livermore Falls 66, Telstar 61

LIVERMORE FALLS – Livermore Falls endured a 16-9 run by Telstar in the third quarter and hung on for a narrow 66-61 victory over the Rebels in an MVC boys’ matchup Tuesday evening.

Ryan Ames and Derek Castonguay led the Andies (10-9) with 14 points each, while Tom Ventrella added three points and hauled down 14 rebounds.

The Rebels (4-13) were paced by Joel Putnam with a game-high 23 points, including two from outside the arc. Dan Vaighn chipped in with 10 points, the only other player in double figures.

Geo. Valley 61, Lisbon 34

LISBON – Senior forward Brian Miller and junior guard Lance Cross scored 12 points each as Georges Valley rumbled past Lisbon 61-34.

The Buccaneers (6-11) outpaced the Greyhounds (0-17) in each of the quarters, with its largest margin in the third quarter at nine points. Andrew Grierson chipped in with 11 points for Georges Valley.

Junior guard Scott Eck picked up 11 points for Lisbon.

Winslow 57, Oak Hill 40

WINSLOW – Sophomore forward Mike McCann tossed 13 points in a balanced attack as Winslow coasted to a 57-40 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Black Raiders (11-6) jumped out to a daunting 17-2 lead in the first quarter, but the Raiders (1-16) whittled down the deficit to a 10-point margin at the half.

Senior guard Shawn Greenier pirated away a game-high 15 points for Oak Hill, while Ben Rines added 12 points in the losing effort.

Maranacook 70, Waterville 59

READFIELD – Maranacook used a 20-8 third-quarter run to gain control of the contest and went on to post a 70-59 victory over Waterville.

The Black Bears (11-6) received 18 points and 12 rebounds from Ben Johnson, while Sam Poulin chipped in with 14 points.

Waterville (7-10) was led by Nate Therriault with a game-high 22 points, while Isaac Webb added 12. Waterville stayed dead-even with Maranacook in the first quarter before its defense began to slip.

Valley 60, Rangeley 46

RANGELEY – Valley recovered from a halftime deficit with an explosive second half to coast to a 60-46 victory over Rangeley.

Rangeley (4-13) built a 27-24 lead after the first two quarters, but the Cavaliers finished the game with a devastating 36-19 run.

Cameron Miller led Valley with a game-high 26 points and Seth Stevens added 17 points. Leading the Lakers were Quinn Philbrick with 12 points and Jordan Richard with 10.
