SACO (AP) – The state fire marshal’s office has determined that a fire that destroyed a six-unit apartment house in Saco was intentionally set.
According to investigators, 14 people were inside the building when the fire was reported at 1:25 a.m. Wednesday. Everyone managed to safely escape through a rear stairway.
Investigator Dan Young said the fire started on the front porch of the ground floor and spread up the side of the three-story building.
Additional details were being withheld pending further investigation.
