NATICK, Mass. – Al Mason-Choquet of Reservoir Road, South Paris, passed away at his daughter’s home in Massachusetts, on Feb. 4, with his daughter, Andrea, and son, Roland, by his side.

He was born in Bristol, Vt., on Sept. 22, 1931, the son of Francis Mason and Joseph Choquet. He served in the Army during World War II in Germany, where he met his first wife of 26 years, Herta.

He was a skilled draftsman and carpenter, operating a home building business, “Choquet Builders and Sons” in Whitman, Mass. In 1978, he moved to Maine, where he built his dream home and enjoyed the simplicity of nature, gardening and bee-keeping.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Herta Choquet; seven children, Andrea Choquet and friend, Bill Latouf, Roland Choquet and wife, Isolde, Mark Choquet, Loretta Choquet and partner, Diane Sorowitz, Heidi Roth, Chester Choquet and Karen Choquet; nine grandchildren, Adam, Taylor, Gregory, Diane, Tommy, Kristen, Kayla, Julie and Jennifer; a brother, Roger and wife, Greta; sisters, Beverly and Millicent; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Lurline; and brothers, Rolland, Peter, Warren, Milton and Richard.
