WEST PARIS – Barbara H. Whitman, 94, of Bryant Pond, died at Ledgeview Living Center on Thursday, Feb. 5.

She was born in Bethel, on Feb. 1, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Bernice (Grover) Heath. She was educated in Bethel schools and graduated from Gould Academy in 1933. She had worked as a mill worker most of her life. She married Donald E. Whitman on Sept. 3, 1934, and he died May 28, 1977.

She is survived by a daughter, Sylvia Doughty and her husband, Stan, of Lisbon Falls; a son, Donald Whitman and his wife, Marcia, of Buckfield; two daughters-in-law, Carol Whitman of Norway and Patty Howe of Bryant Pond; two sisters, Roberta Bennett of Lovell and Henrietta Brown; and many grand and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sons, Herbert Whitman and Larry Whitman; and a brother, Albert Heath.
