This is regarding the story about the fire in Hebron printed Jan. 31. I would like to be sure that the neighboring fire departments of Buckfield and Minot get their due recognition. The story mentioned South Paris and Norway and “neighboring towns.” Well, Buckfield and Minot were those towns, and without all the help from all the mutual aid towns, such a good “stop” on the fire would not have happened.

To quote the article, the “nearby apartment building and barn” were attached, and all crews did a tremendous job keeping the fire from spreading further.

The weather conditions were very difficult, to say the least.

I offer thanks to all the responding companies – Buckfield, Minot, Paris and Norway.

Harold “Bunky” Hall, Hebron

Deputy Chief, Hebron Fire Department
