Lewiston Public Works has seen budget cuts, I’m sure. But can someone please tell me why sidewalks are cleared of snow on outer Sabattus Street before they do the downtown area?
I remember, as a child, that the downtown area was the first to get snow removed. Now a person can’t even walk down Canal Street, as there are no cleared sidewalks. Never mind trying to put money in the snow-buried parking meters.
It seems with so many unemployed people, the city could find laborers, because there certainly appears to be plenty of work to do in downtown Lewiston.
