Dany Masse sparked a Drummondville with four goals and a pair of assists to spark the Voltigeurs to a 10-1 thumping of the Lewiston Maineiacs on Saturday in Drummondville.
The victory completes a two-game sweep by Drummondville, which leads the Telus Central division.
Masse completed his hat trick in the first period to help Drummondville open a 4-1 lead after the first 20 minutes.
The Voltigeurs added two more goals in the second period and added another four in the third period, including the capper with 13 seconds remaining in the game. They scored the game’s final eight goals.
Yannick Riendeau was credited with six assists.
Lewiston goaltenders Adrien Lemay and Peter Delmas were equally victimized, with each allowing five goals.
Drummondville controlled the pace of the game for the second consecutive night. The Maineiacs were outshot 44-20 on Saturday, for a two-game mismatch of 113-36.
The Maineiacs’ lone goal was scored at 10:14 of the opening period by Pierre-Olivier Morin, with an assist by Patrick Cusack. It was Morin’s 13th goal of the season.
Lewiston returns to action Wednesday for a road game at Baie-Comeau.
