Lewiston – Beatrice M. Arsenault, 85, of Knox Street in Rumford, died Saturday, Feb. 7, at CMMC following a brief illness.

She was born in Rumford on Feb. 26, 1923, a daughter of Rene and Alice (Gallant) Arsenault.

Beatrice attended St. John’s Parochial School and was a graduate of Stephens High School.

She married Euclide J. Arsenault on Oct. 26, 1946, he passed away on Oct. 13, 1990.

She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a member of the choir for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and The Guild of the Catholic Women.

She attended daily Mass and weekly Bible classes and was a leader of the Renew Group. She volunteered for 30 years at the St. John School library and many years at the Meroby School library.

She loved sewing, knitting, cooking, baking the “perfect” apple pie, playing cards with her cousins and family gatherings.

She is survived by three daughters, Elyse M. Briggs and husband, Robert, of Rumford, Corinne L. Jackamore and husband, David, of Denver, Colo., and Rachel M. Arsenault and husband, Mark of Winthrop; a son, George E. Arsenault and wife Jacky, of New Portland; a sister, Alice Reynolds and husband Paul, of Princeton, Minn.; four brothers, Denys Arsenault of Kittery, Leo Paul Arsenault of Rumford, Robert Arsenault and wife, Ferne, of Rumford and Raymond Arsenault and wife, Kay, of Manchester, N.H.; and three grandchildren, Amy E. Briggs, Tyler J. Arsenault and Alyssa C. Arsenault.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Euclide J. Arsenault; three sisters, Irene Prue, Evangeline Roy and Therese Arsenault; and four brothers, George Arsenault, Rene Arsenault, Charles Arsenault and Eugene Arsenault.
