LEWISTON – Mona L. Strout, 91, formerly of Clover Manor in Auburn, passed away at Central Maine Medical Center on Monday, Feb. 9.

She was born in Milan, N.H., on Oct. 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Elden and Eva (Nichols) Peabody. She attended local schools in Berlin, N.H. She and Charles moved to the Lewiston/Auburn area in the early 1950s. She worked at Pineland Hospital as a personal care attendant.

She loved to travel, especially to Florida. She was a very caring person and was always willing to help others. She loved cats and was especially fond of her cat, “Angel.”

She is survived by her two sons, Reggie and his wife, Sue Strout, of Strong and Allen and his wife, Pam, of Exeter; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; and her siblings, Sharon and Ronald; her sister, Barbara Hops; and a special friend, Scott Johnson.

A special thanks to the fourth floor staff at CMMC and Dr. Ross for the care given to Mona. Also a thanks to the staff of Clover Manor for the loving care of Mona during her stay there.
