Mrs. Maureen Lachapelle and the Lewiston Nutrition Program initiated the breakfast program for the students and staff. In the morning students go to the cafeteria and get what they want to eat before they go back to their homeroom. Too many young people come to school hungry and it’s been showing it in their school work.

Research indicates that if students eat breakfast, they will do better in their schoolwork. Currently, milk, juice, cereal, and a cereal bar are served, but the program is going to start serving bagels, muffins, and pancakes. About 150 students a day eat breakfast daily. A healthy breakfast is always a great way to start any day.
