As I sit here writing the President’s message, the sun is trying to come out and my temperature gauge reads 12 degrees. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I’m telling myself that Spring is right around the corner; it’s February already! Many of you are saying, “Hey, why is Cheryl once again president of the Chamber?” With Joe Roberts resigning because of medical issues, I am filling in for the rest of his term; just trying to help out.

The Chamber is busy with their membership drive. If you are a business and have not joined our Chamber family yet, give Cherri a call at the office; she’d be more than happy to stop by and tell you about the benefits you’d receive as a member and about all the wonderful things that you are missing out on.

The Chamber committees are also busy meeting to plan the various events that the Chamber is involved with this year. The 10 town Easter Egg Hunt and the Annual Dinner are being planned as well as the Expo. Your business needs to be involved this year with the Expo; it gives you so much exposure to all the citizens of the River Valley; it shows them what exactly is in the River Valley for businesses and gives them an opportunity to shop locally.

If you haven’t stopped in to meet Cherri Crockett, our Chamber Administrator, please do so and visit the Information Center while you are there. There is a lot of information at your fingertips to plan day trips for the family or even a family vacation. Explore the River Valley area and Maine; see the beauty of our area and what is out there in your own backyard.
