Here in Monmouth Middle School, the eighth grade class is doing a year-long invention project. Every student has a different invention like the television or the pen. The students got to choose which project they wanted to study, but there are no two people doing the same thing.
There are two parts to this project, a writing part and a model part. The writing part is a paper over most of the information on the invention and the other part is basically a blown up figure of your project. For example, I am doing my project on the pencil and I will have to make a pencil that’s about three feet long and one foot around.
The students are currently writing their papers that will be due on January 29, then we they are going to start the models. This project will be worth two test grades in science class and worth one test grade in writing lab. The final product is due at the end of the year and I know the students are very excited about it.
