WINDHAM – In support of the December 2008 limited-edition reissue of its 1998 album, “Rooms by the Hour,” Rustic Overtones will play an acoustic in-store set Friday, Feb. 13, at Bull Moose. The 5:30 p.m. show is free.
The set will feature the full band, including horns, and will primarily incorporate songs from the “Rooms by the Hour” reissue, currently available only at the Bull Moose stores and at www.bullmoose.com.
The Rustic Overtones, originally formed in Portland in 1995, is a seven-piece band made up of guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Gutter, drummer Tony McNaboe, trombonist Dave Noyes, baritone saxophonist Jason Ward, bassist Jon Roods, alto and tenor saxophonist Ryan Zoidis and newest member Nigel Hall on keyboards and vocals.
In their own words, the band’s sound is a rock/soul/funk mix of “fiery rhythm section,” “blazing horn riffs” and “soulful vocals.”
Rustic Overtones split in 2002. It kicked off its official reunion in July 2007, with a free outdoor performance for 6,000 fans and a new album, “Light at the End,” the band’s fifth LP release.
The Bull Moose store is in the Windham Shopping Center, 771 Roosevelt Trail.
