On December 5, 2008, the Optimist Club put on a tri-town dance for Minot, Poland, and Mechanic Falls. This dance was for students in grades seven and eight, and was held in the Mechanic Falls gymnasium.
Signs were put up in all three schools telling the students who, what, when, where, and why. The dance was held from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. These tri-town dances are put together so that students from all three towns can get to know each other better, and “mingle,” before getting to Poland Regional High School, where we will all be together for those four years. However, some people might choose to attend St. Doms.
For the most part, I think that the dance went well. People from different towns were dancing together and talking to each other. A lot of people already knew others from different towns, and were just happy to see their friends again, and take a break from school work. This dance was all about fun!
Along with the fun and energy that was at the dance, the three towns raised some money for the school programs. All in all, the dance was a success!
