I am very disappointed this year with the Sun Journal’s coverage of Lewiston High School boys’ hockey. It has been almost non-existent. Even when Lewiston has a home game, there have been many times that there was no article in the paper.

This past weekend was a perfect example. Lewiston beat Bangor, which was an important win for them after losing to them the weekend before. There was not even a small article about the game, which was played at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

St. Dom’s had an away game and there was an article available. Every sport and team had coverage except for the Lewiston High boys’ hockey team.

I was fortunate that when my son played there was coverage of the team, and I will always cherish the articles and pictures with him in it.

I hope the Sun Journal sports department will start to have better coverage of the team to give the players and parents the same opportunity for the memories, and for the community to be able to read about the team’s accomplishments.

Editor’s Note: When the Sun Journal is unable to cover a game live, we rely upon coaches to report scores and statistics to us. For Lewiston-Bangor, we were unable to cover the game in person and no game report from the coach was provided.
