In his guest column, Feb. 8, Lew Alessio refers to the inequities of the law regarding homosexuals. I say the greatest inequity has been the ruling of a six-member judicial panel in Massachusetts that forced chaotic gay marriage on the whole state.
At the same time, this small number of people has caused a spawning of great pressure upon neighboring states to accommodate gays married in Massachusetts to be recognized in their own states. Alessio went to Massachusetts to be married and now he pounds the Maine doors down to destroy Maine’s social order.
His point about interracial marriage doesn’t apply as it can never be equated with same-sex marriage. Homosexuality is a behavior, not a racial thing.
Since Alessio made reference to the Bible, I say, “… a man shall leave his mother and father and cling to his wife,” and in Matthew 5:31, Jesus says, “Whosoever shall put away his wife …”
The outrageous distortions by gay advocates and their supporters to imply that Judaism/Christianity, or even Islam, approves of same-sex behaviors, and deny the very words of our lord and savior, is hugely heretical.
Finally, talking of justice, justice is also defined as righteousness, and yes, age-old and timeless marriage of man and woman is an absolute of righteousness.
We cannot and must not allow the social chaos that gays wish to force upon society.
