AUBURN – Nine underage drinkers were charged over the weekend at a local party, police said.
Some in the group issued summonses for consumption of alcohol by minors were older than 18, some were younger, Auburn police Lt. Scott Watkins said Monday.
Members of the Androscoggin County Alcohol Enforcement Team learned from tips that a party at the house included minors and juveniles and raided the place at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Benjamin Duplissis hosted the party in his second floor apartment at 141 Winter St., but the renter of a first floor apartment also allowed some party-goers inside, Watkins said.
Duplissis, 20, was arrested and charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol. He was released from Androscoggin County Jail on $100 cash bail, according to a news release issued by Auburn police.
Also arrested at the party was Timothy Turner, 24, of Lewiston on a charge of violation of bail conditions and possession of a suspended or fictitious license. He was held at jail pending a court appearance, Watkins said.
Three 16-year-olds were cited for underage drinking. Also charged on complaints of minor consuming liquor were:
• Chelsea A. Gagnon, 19, of 58 Bailey Ave., Lewiston.
• Cameron J. Angell, 20, of 166 Turner Center Road, Turner.
• Corey Joseph Binette, 19, of 83 Broadview Ave.
• Amber L. Marin, 19, of 31 Laurel St., Mechanic Falls.
• Anthony J. Tantillo, 20, of 8 Orange St., Lewiston.
Gagnon also was charged with allowing minor to possess or consume liquor.
Brian Kyle Trafford, 21, of 141 Winter St. was issued summonses on charges of possession of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
The Androscoggin County Alcohol Enforcement Team is a collaborative among Auburn, Lewiston and Lisbon police departments, Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department and Healthy Androscoggin. The group is funded through grants provided by Healthy Androscoggin and Maine Office of Substance Abuse.
