PHILLIPS – A Farmington man was ejected from a car on Salem Road, Route 142, Monday after his car rolled over several times and came to rest against a utility pole, said Deputy Ken Charles of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
Larry Thomas, 20, of Farmington, was traveling at a high rate of speed west toward Phillips at 3:20 p.m. in a 1997 Chevy Malibu, which had inadequate tires, Charles said. He lost control of the vehicle and crossed to the opposite side of the road, rolled over and was ejected.
Thomas was conscious and talkative but suffered fractures to his arms and legs. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by LifeFlight helicopter, Charles said.
“He was pretty lucky,” he said. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
