New signs for Tranten’s grocery store and its Amato franchise were put up Monday on Main Street in Farmington by Signworks employees Shaun Kane and Sam Monihan. The plastic letters are 23 carat gold leaf, said Mike Monihan, pictured near the ladders. After a couple months of renovating, the store is scheduled to open March 9, said Donald Tranten. The store will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. A grand opening will be held the following week, he said.
