Tori Mae Couture scored an unassisted goal at 3:37 of the third period to lead the Auburn Youth Hockey girls’ U-14 team to a 1-0 victory over the Western Maine Wolverines in U-14 Tier 3 play.

Auburn goalie Savannah Shaw made 20 saves for her first career shutout, while Western Maine goalie Michaela Rullo had six saves.

Couture’s goal came on a breakaway on a feed pass from Breanna Durgin and Michelle Morin.

Auburn took a penalty with 1:45 to play in the game, and Western Maine pulled the goalie for a 6-on-4, but never got a shot on goal due to strong Auburn penalty kill.
