GRAY – A local man was summoned to court after police found 50 mature marijuana plants in his home on Route 26 on Sunday morning.

Jay J. Poitras, 33, of 314 Shaker Road was charged with cultivating marijuana and ordered to appear in Portland District Court on May 13, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement issued Tuesday.

Deputies suspected an illegal operation at Poitras’ home, located in a trailer park, the department said. They seized plants, cultivation supplies and less than 1 pound of processed marijuana valued at approximately $2,500, according to the statement.
