FARMINGTON – Ashley Busque hit a layup with under a minute remaining in regulation to lift Maine-Farmington to a 52-51 victory over Colby in collegiate women’s basketball action Tuesday.
Busque finished with 12 points for the Beavers (13-10), while Caitlin Laflin recorded a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Brittany York was also strong under the boards with 11 rebounds.
The White Mules (13-11) were paced by Rachael Mack, Aarika Ritchie and Alison Cappeloni with nine points each. Colby made up for poor shooting by holding a 49-36 advantage off the glass with Mack and Sam Allen each grabbing 11 rebounds and Cappeloni 10.
