ORONO – Tim Brodsky of Edward Little earned a silver medal in the 50-yard freestyle at the Class A state championships at the University of Maine.

The Edward Little junior was timed in 22.90 seconds, trailing only Deering senior E.J. Googins, who’s winning time was 22.24.

Brodsky also placed fifth in the 100 freestyle. He accumulated all of EL’s 31 points.

Lewiston was paced by the relay team of Miles Colby, David Tirabassi, Kurtis Stocker and Derek Morris, who took fifth place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.08. That was the only event where Lewiston qualified swimmers into the championship round.

Morris, Devin Carrier, Stocker and Tirabassi teamed up to place 10th in the 200 medley relay.

Individually, Lewiston received points from Miles (15th in 200 freestyle), Stocker (14th in 200 IM and 14th in 100 breaststroke), Morris (13th in 50 and 14th in 100 backstroke), and the 400 freestyle relay team of Ted Blaisdell, Matthew Reed, Nate Chaloux and Miles (16th).

The Blue Devils finished 14th out of 24 teams with 59 points.
