WEST PARIS – Elmer Waterhouse of West Paris celebrated his 101st birthday on Jan. 30.

Different family groups visited Friday and Saturday, while an open house was held Sunday afternoon at his home, which he shares with his daughter, Gloria. There were 35 in attendance.

As part of his birthday celebration, Waterhouse is giving a gift to each of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Some are receiving books and some are receiving a DVD of “Kids Time.”

There are 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

His great-grandson, Melvin Austin, is a missionary in Korea.

Waterhouse is formerly of Perkins Valley, Woodstock.
