More rug hooking classes at local center

NORWAY – Classes in the heritage art of traditional rug hooking at the Lajos Matolcsy Arts Center, 480 Main St., were such a success in January and February that an additional set of classes has been added to the schedule.

Titled “It’s Almost Spring,” the classes are scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 28, March 7 and 14.

The series includes a project on linen, wool and hook and follows the project through to completion.

Once the classes end, students and anyone interested in rug hooking are invited to join for informal “hook-ins” at the MAC from 1 to 3 p.m. every Saturday.
