RUMFORD – There will be something for everyone during Winter Fest at Black Mountain on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8, from fireworks to sleigh rides and skiing.
Both days will begin with a guided cross country ski tour. There will be lift rides to the top for $2 and a barbecue will be held there. Those wishing may bring snowshoes along on the lift ride and snowshoe to the summit.
Saturday will feature a variety of events. There will be dog sled rides through the woods to a bonfire featuring hot chocolate. New hits will be added to the terrain park as well as a big air jump for skiers and snowboarders.
There will be sledding on the novice trail for those who bring their sleds. Snowmobilers are also welcome.
Peter Koch will provide live music throughout the afternoon. Saturday’s finale of fireworks will bring a display over the mountain. The tubing park will also be open.
Winter Fest will cap off on Sunday with guided cross country ski tours and lift rides to the top with a barbecue. Horse-drawn sleigh rides through the woods to a bonfire with hot cocoa will be available.
