Boy Scout receives highest award
OXFORD – Ronald Henri St. John of Boy Scout Troop 196 received his Eagle Scout award at American Legion Post 112 on Jan. 25.
More than 60 people attended the formal ceremony for the bestowal of Scouting’s highest award. Guests included State Reps. James Hamper and Richard Sykes, representatives from the post and the parents of Scouts from Troop 196.
There were also six Eagle Scouts present.
St. John received gifts and awards.
He joined the troop in February 2002 and earned 32 merit badges, as well as holding many leadership positions.
St. John’s Eagle project was to build a tetherball court, horseshoe pits and a beach volleyball court for the town of Harrison.
