Lincoln program
WOODSTOCK – Paul and Vicki Billings presented a program and gave a test on Abraham Lincoln at the Woodstock Historical Society meeting on Valentine’s Day.
They noted that Lincoln lost nearly every office for which he ran before the presidency. He was the 16th president and the first to be assassinated. He failed in business but proved a good lawyer, they said. Curator Larry Billings scored highest on the test and won a stuffed animal.
Olive Risko gave a research report, and the potluck supper included soups, from corn chowder to salmon, and a chocolate cake and cookies.
