NORWAY – Stone-Smart Post, American Legion, Auxiliary met Feb. 11 at the post with President Thelma Denlinger presiding.

Ellen Snow reported that from November through January she has donated furniture, baby items, sports equipment, puzzles, toys, bikes, linens, books, clothes and shoes, with an estimated value of $3,160, for the needy.

The items were collected by Legionnaire Albert Mercuri. Mitzi Sequoia of Community Services, a project for needy families and individuals in Oxford County, picked them up. The project is helping many people in the area.

Joyce Clifford reported that 86 members have paid their dues.

Nominating Committee chosen is comprised of Rose Moulton, Carmie Rideout and Kim Hansen. A Membership Committee was formed, made up of Joyce Clifford, Pam Perkins and Thelma Denlinger.

It was voted to give donations to Opportunity Farm, Special Olympics and in memory of Doris Hunt to the Maine Veterans’ Home activity fund. Marjy Sessions, Clifford and Hansen will serve on the Scholarship Committee.

The meeting was preceded by a chowder supper with assorted desserts, and the hall was decorated in a Valentine theme by Chairwoman Beulah Ayer with help from Rose Moulton.
