RUMFORD – Black Mountain and the Chisholm Ski Club have announced a Nordic ski program for beginner to advanced skiers. Running three Saturdays in February and March, the program will help skiers advance their skills.

Beginners will learn balance on their skis and will enhance developing technique, while more advanced skier will learn race technique and a variety of strokes.

The coaches plan to teach the skills through games, relays and group skis. A fun race during Black Mountain’s Winter Fest will cap off the program. Contact the mountain at 364-8977 for sign up and more information.

Coaches Jill (Dunton) Bartash and Rick Dunton bring many years of Nordic coaching and racing experience. The program will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 21 and 28 and March 7.

The cost for the three sessions is $30. Skiers interested in the program are encouraged to call Black Mountain for more information and to sign up before Saturday, Feb. 21. Equipment will be provided if necessary.
