RUMFORD – Rumford’s Relay For Life Kick-Off Rally will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 25. It will be the 12th year for the Relay For Life Rally in the River Valley.

This is the American Cancer Society’s signature event to kick things off for the Relay For Life, the River Valley area relay to fight against cancer. The event will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 29 and 30, at the Hosmer Field Complex.

The Relay For Life-River Valley Committee will host a relay rally at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Eagles Club, Oxford Avenue. A spaghetti dinner will be followed by guest speakers, raffles and drawings.

All cancer survivors, their families and the Relay For Life teams are invited. RSVP to Diane Mitchell at 364-8358.

Teams in the Relay For Life take turns walking around a track for 18 hours. Families, corporations, clubs, hospitals, churches, temples and schools organize teams.
