JAY – A North Jay man suffered cuts to his hand after he lost control of a pickup truck he was driving on Route 4 on Thursday morning and it rolled over, police said.
Anthony Mecham, 19, was going too fast for road conditions and lost control, police Sgt. Troy Young said.
The accident occurred just south of the Transfer Station on Jay Hill.
The 2001 Toyota Tacoma hit a snowbank and flipped onto its roof, Young said.
Mecham had cuts to his hands, Young said, and was treated at the scene by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services medics.
Young estimated damage at $5,000 to the truck, owned by Alice Wilbur of North Jay.
Mecham was not wearing a seat belt, Young said.
