What a pleasant surprise to pick up the Sun Journal and see a familiar face on the very front page (Feb. 5), especially since it was a positive article about a public school administrator, Patrick Harnett, principal of Leavitt Area High School in Turner. He had been named principal of the year. It could not happen to a nicer man.

Educator, husband, father and resident of Hebron, students were lucky to have him as their teacher at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Students at Leavitt are now fortunate to have him as their principal. He is dedicated and caring.

Harnett is not only a great addition to the field of education, but also a hands-on dad to his three children.

I offer him my congratulations.

His wonderful grin is so contagious, and I feel so lucky that he lives in my community.
